BMFA Scale Event Sunday 11th October, No Fly Days, Committee Meeting & Club Updates

Dear PANDAS Member,

The BMFA Scale committee are holding a BMFA scale competition at the PANDAS flying site on Sunday 11th October 2020. Full details are on the club website (link below).

The event is subject to the weather on the day and may be cancelled at the last minute (I think the cut off time is 6.00pm the day before, for the organisers to decide).

If the event goes ahead there will be no normal PANDAS members flying on this day. Depending on the numbers taking part, there be the opportunity for some general club flying at some point during the day (lunch break / end of the competition) but that is not guaranteed.

PANDAS members can enter the competition for free. However, you will need to contact the event organiser (details on the club website page) to arrange this.

PANDAS members are welcome to come and watch the event, but to comply with the current Coronavirus rules/guidelines we will be limited to 30 people on the field and the 2-metre social distancing guideline, must be adhered to at all times.

If you are intending to come and watch, please check the club track and trace calendar (details below) and submit your details well before the day for your visit to the field. If you can see more than 30 people on the calendar you would have to view the event from the banking at the back of the field.

The PANDAS committee are also intending to hold a social distanced committee meeting in the car park area at 1.00pm on this day. If you have any questions you wish to raise with the committee you are welcome to come along.

No Fly Days (Horse Racing Events)

There are 2 more ‘No Fly Days’ left this year due to the behind closed doors horse race events in the park (dates below):

Monday 5th October 2020

Monday 19th October 2020

AGM and Joining Night
There is no prospect of holding any face to face indoor club meetings this year and I doubt it will be possible to hold them much before June 2021.

We will circulate details of how we propose to deal with the AGM business after the committee get together on Sunday 11th October. It is likely the committee will stay as it is (until we can hold, a proper indoor, face to face meeting), the unaudited accounts will be circulated by email/letter and the club senior member subscriptions will be  increased to £25.00.

We will circulate details of how members can renew their PANDAS membership in early December.

BMFA 2021 Membership Renewals
The club will not be renewing any members BMFA memberships this year and you will have to do your own either online or by telephone, directly with the BMFA. Members will not be allowed to renew their PANDAS 2021 membership until they have renewed their BMFA 2021 membership.

PANDAS 2021 Membership Renewals
We will be encouraging members to pay by online bank transfer wherever possible. We do not want to be handling cash and cheques if it at all possible (we want to avoid having to go to the bank).  We will also be able to accept debit and credit card payments down at the field at set times and dates. Full details will follow in early December.

Can I just remind members if you are at the field, to please observe the groups of 6 or less and the 2 metre social distancing guidelines.

If anyone has any questions or needs to clarify anything, please feel free to call or email me.

PANDAS Chairman.
