PANDAS Flying Field Levelling Updates (20/3/2020) & Gate Security

Dear PANDAS Member,

The work on the field levelling has started, in as much, that the contractor has sprayed the grass killing liquid (16/3/2020).

Once that takes effect (10 to 14 days is the estimate), they will be in a position to start the actual levelling and reseeding. Hopefully this will take 2 to 3 days, but it will mean machinery will be at the field. Once I know the exact dates, that they are doing the work, I will circulate it.

We had to apply for a special licence from Wakefield council to get the work done. As part of the licence agreement and the fact contractors will be coming in and out, the council asked that we pay particular attention to keep the field secure and make sure the gate is kept locked, to prevent any unwelcome visitors.

Just a gentle reminder from the PANDAS committee, to make sure our entrance gate is always locked and secured, when members both enter and leave the field.

Thank you for everyone’s continued support and co-operation, whilst we complete the work and get through this Coronavirus situation.

For those who do decide to visit the field and fly, just be mindful if contractors are on site and keep in mind the government guidance regarding the Coronavirus.

Let’s hope everybody remains in good health and the current situation is brought under control quickly, to enable us all to get back, to a normal life.

Martin Lynn,
PANDAS Chairman.
